The Wengen 2 Workshop
A critical look at recent developments in astrophysical simulation codes
Wengen, Switzerland 4-8 October 2010
Organizers: Oscar Agertz, Ben Moore, Romain Teyssier and Joachim Stadel
The Wengen2 workshop is a four day gathering of ~25 experts in computational astrophysics. At the first Wengen meeting in 2004 we met to run and discuss several test problems which we performed on hardware we took to the hotel. The outcome of that meeting was a fairly influential paper comparing SPH and grid based techniques based on one of the test problems.
Six years later we return to Wengen to assess the current state-of-the-art in simulating astrophysical fluids. This is particularly timely given recent developments, including refinements of old techniques and new codes in development.
